I
grew up by the beach 20 minutes outside of Wonderful Copenhagen. Since my 1st
visit to New York City at the age
of 8, I was hooked on the Big Apple. My family had 2 great friends. They were
Puerto Rican brothers - Native New Yorkers, yaÌ know! They would come to
Copenhagen all the time, so I learned English, when I was 6, and this way got
the chance to speak without an accent, and have the understanding that comes
with growing up with something so close at hand. I
majored in music in high school (surprise), and went to Spain
for a year to babysit, and play gigs on the caf»s along ÏLa Costa BlancaÓ.
Today I speak fluent Spanish, and because of the way I look, and sound, people
always think, IÌm Spanish, which sometimes lead to a lot of fun.... I
decided to study music at Manhattan
School Of Music in New York City. IÌve done my share of hustlinÌ. When I
returned from the States, I formed my own 7
piece Gospel band, and toured
Scandinavia for about 3 years, before I got my 1st recording
contract. My debut album ÏGeneration
LoveÓ was born. My
predominant musical influences are R&B,
Gospel, Soul, Jazz, and Hip-Hop.
I totally dig artists such as Joe, Erikah Badu, DÌAngelo, Maxwell, Brandy,
Kelly Price, Faith Evans, Mary J. Blige, DestinyÌs Child, Jodeci, TLC, The Backstreet Boys, and Christina
Aguliera. But as you
know, many have come before them, so as a child growing up it seems, I was
always the odd ball as far as my musical taste was concerned. I listened
to artists such as Michael Jackson & The Jacksons, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer
Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Minnie Riperton, Luther Vandross, Gladys Knight, Al
Jarreau, Will Downing, Anita Baker, Daryl Coley, Andr» Crouch, Marvin Gay,
Whitney Houston, Earth Wind & Fire, and The Brothers Johnson. All the old
school people who were way before me, but spoke to me in a way the Pop music
on the radio couldnÌt. I would get home from school, run to my music, and sing
with the legends for hours. These
great performers have contributed into making me, who I am as a musician, a
performer, and
maybe even to some extent as a person. Their talent and musicianship
continuously give me immeasurable
joy and inspiration - That is what I hope, wish, and pray my music will do for
you. So listen up....
